Diploma of Information Technology

This course has been designed to enable successfully completing students to either seek a job in IT and or progress to university with possibilities of commencing their Bachelor of IT at the second year!

The IT industry is constantly evolving as new technologies are developed. Academy IT are continually developing their program in conjunction with industry partners to ensure that it is up-to-date and relevant. Academy IT is a Microsoft Certified Partner and will therefore include a selection of Microsoft Official courses from the MCSA/MCSE and MCSD Certification Pathway's within the program. Academy IT holds certifications in each of the courses that they teach.

Study Pathway
Once you graduate, you will be able continue your studies at a University Degree level or seek a career in the ICT industry with the intention of establishing a career in a Software Development capacity. AIBT Diploma Graduates are eligible for Articulation credit with several universities in Adelaide. For example, completing this diploma will give you credit of 8 subjects (equivalent to one year of study) towards the University of South Australia Bachelor of IT (Networking & Cyber Security) or their Bachelor of IT (Software Development). This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to administer and manage information and communications technology (ICT) support in small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) using a wide range of general ICT technologies. Persons working at this level provide a broader rather than specialised ICT support function, applying a wide range of higher level technical skills in ICT areas such as networking, IT support, database development, programming and web development.

Once you graduate, you will be able continue your studies at Diploma level or seek a career in the ICT industry with the intention of establishing a career in an IT support capacity. Participants who complete this qualification commonly find roles as Customer Support, Database Support, Help Desk Specialist, Network Support Technician, PC Support Technician, Technical Support - sustainability, User Support (Technical).

  • Literacy and mathematical skills equivalent to Year 11 in the Australian Schooling System
  • International students MUST have minimum IELT'S score of 5.5 or equivalent
  • A desire to be working in an IT role or have completed a Certificate IV in Information Technology would be beneficial
